Jezz James - Tenor
Jezz has worked as: a butcher, a debt collector, a florist, a lecturer in Critical Thinking, and lastly in the City before he decided to pursue a career in singing. He has trained with ENO’s Opera Works programme in 2009 during which he performed roles including: Jaquino in Fidelio, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Egeus in Giasone, Tito in La Clemenza di Tito and Tamino in The Magic Flute. With many of London’s leading small opera companies his roles include: Nemorino in L’Elesire d’Amore, Orpheus and Mercury in Orpheus in the Underworld, Albert and Mr Upfold, The Mayor in Albert Herring, Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Bob Boles in Peter Grimes, and Alfredo in Die Fledermaus. Jezz is in demand as a concert soloist with a number of orchestras, choirs and choral societies, such as Merry Opera’s tour of staged performances of The Messiah.
