Sovra has been singing all her professional career; from musicals to opera.  Her career started in a cabaret act in which she both sang and danced.  This lead onto working in musicals and straight plays in repertory theatres up and down the country and then straight plays.

Her roles in opera include: Her roles in opera include: The Queen of the Night in the The Magic Flute, Norina in Don Pasquale, Angelica in Suor Angelica, Marcelina in The Magic of Figaro,  Cunegonde in Leonard Bernstein’s Candide, Yvette in La Rondine, Annina in La Traviata and a revival of an opera La Viex Guernesey; about the fairies that live on the island of Guernsey.  In musicals Sovra has played Sandy in a national tour of Grease, Star to Be in Annie, Sandra in Pal Joey, Lavinia in Perchance to Dream and various characters in Annie, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The King and I.  As a straight actress she has playing such parts as: Minnie in the Daughter-In-law, Mrs Manningham in Gaslight, Peter in Peter Pan, Malena in John Gabriel Borkman, a national tour of Amadeus (with Keith Michel as Salieri) and in the stage version of ‘Allo ‘Allo playing Edith opposite Gorden Kaye.

Her most interesting (and diverse) work in the last couple of years has been a pilot episode for a ‘Soap’ for a shopping channel – called Shoap!  And most recently as part of an Art on The Underground installation at Stratford Station called The Stratford Gaff, a film involving 11 Newham artists.

Her Concert work has taken Sovra all over the UK and to France and Italy.  She also runs community music projects and choirs for, and in, the London Borough of Newham.
